Shalom
This work is a literal translation of the Tanakh commonly, and incorrectly, known as the Old Testament, complete with Strongs reference numbers, Hebrew lexicon, and Hebrew lessons.
Although there is no better way to learn a language than by associating with native speakers, a little difficult with Biblical Hebrew, this work will enable you to learn Biblical Hebrew in the next best way. Please remember, though, that this is a work in progress and although well on the way to completion there is still a long way to go as coding and error checking is time consuming.
Our emphasis is on accuracy and no matter what your current knowledge level is it is guaranteed that your faith will be tested.
UTILITIES NEEDED
To view the Hebrew correctly you will need to download and install BSTHebrew font.
Due to a quirk in the rendering of the BSTHebrew font in Internet Explorer when using the XP operating system it is recommended that you download Mozilla Firefox. There are a number of advantages with Firefox too ... popup blocking, tabbed browsing and more.
HEBREW AND ARAMAIC
The Tanakh is written primarily in Hebrew though the letters of the alphabet are of Aramaic origin. There are two words in B'reshit 31:47 that are Aramaic, verse 11 of Yir'm'yahu is Aramaic, Ezra 4:8-6:18 and 7:12-26, and Daniel 2:4-7:28 are all Aramaic.
